Pegula Birthday Rally at the HSBC a Rousing Success

“Happy birthday dear Terrrry, happy birthday to you!”

Some of the fans lingering, after the sing-a-long.

The “Happy Birthday to Pegula” flash-mob today was a wonderful success.  WGRZ and YNN were on hand to videotape this cute little fan flash-mob event.  Keep an eye on those news broadcasts today, to witness the glory that is the harmony of an impromptu Sabres chorus.

In all, about 35 (unofficial count) folks showed up to sing – not bad considering the effort to make this happen began less than 12 hours prior, and most people didn’t catch on until they woke up on this yawn-n-stretch Sunday morning.

In the end, those in attendance had a great time mingling, talking, and just feeling great about the Sabres, about Pegula, and about how the culture of this team has changed.

Like I said in my previous post: today was not about over-the-top sycophancy.  Rather, it was to acknowledge the new culture that is robust with hope, optimism, and well wishes.

Heck, isn’t that what a birthday party is about?

Happy 60th, T-Pegs.

Go Sabres.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that I was interviewed by WGRZ about what this little party meant.  Make sure you tune in – to meet and hear the blogger behind the sunglasses!
