“These boys don’t stand a chance if they make the playoffs.”
That seems to be a general consensus, especially after that meltdown against the Nashville Predators, when the Sabres blew a 3-1 lead with just over 2 minutes left in the 3rd. Oh, there was a lot of upset people after that game, especially on Twitter, which was chronicled here on buffalo74.
Quite the meltdown. But what does it really mean?
An extra day of reflection gave Mike Harrington (Buffalo News Sabres Beat Writer) the time to do what turned out to be some very interesting research:
If every columnist at the Buffalo News did this kind of research, it would make for one heck of a paper.
In any event, it really proves that The Meltdown really means nothing. As stated here before, all NHL teams suffer meltdowns. Thanks to Harrington, we at least can rest assured that the Sabres are just as good at forcing other teams to suffer the same.
And some of those teams the Sabres came back to clobber are in the NHL elite.
