Tim Kennedy: Why the Sabres will not Claim Him on Re-Entry Waivers

The Florida Panthers were smart to wait until now to place Tim Kennedy on re-entry waivers.  A NHL team could pick him up, and only have to pay him 1/2 his remaining salary.  But…

    Darcy offered $$ in fall, Tim K wanted more he won in Arb. Was waived traded waive. So taking Sabres to Arb was Tim K down fall or he still be a Sabre

      Yup. I can’t understand why TK was so surprised at being waived – as Hamilton of WGR reported, TK was told that if he got $1mil in arbitration, that he would be waived. The Sabres had offered TK an $800k contract, and it was also one-way, just like he wanted. Like many say, TK’s agent killed his career (so far).
