Slap Shot Screening Tonight

The historic Hamburg Palace theater will be screening “Slap Shot” tonight, the iconic 1977 ice hockey movie starring Paul Newman, (and the Hanson brothers).

“A failing ice hockey team finds success using constant fighting and violence during games.”

That’s the kind of movie maybe the faltering Sabres should see.  And it’s the kind of laugh Sabres fans need after last night’s deplorable effort by the Sabres against the visiting Blues (who had just traded away their captain).

The reels start turning at 9pm, and admission is only $5.50.  If you haven’t seen the film yet, or if you’ve seen it 30 times, it will be a great time.
